Don't you wonder what happens to me when it gets a bit too late? I go crazy and invent things.. or talk about completely stupid things. Here is another instance of this when TheAvatar and I invent the SSNeP network protocal. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as i had typing it!

Oh yea, this time there isn't any extra coloring.. (i got lazy.... so sue me!) =)

not blaming the demons of misspelling? =)
[23:24] it isnt really misspelling this time... they're spelling the words correctly... its just the wrong words :)
[23:25] all right, how would I connect to a Samba share on a Windows machine with GNOME in Redhat (this share contains my remote buffers)?
either way... =)
[23:25] * wayne-o feels like we've been doing RC5 forever
[23:26] 700+ days
[23:26] wayne-o: sorry you feel that way... I'll solve it tomorrow for you, will that make you happy? :)
[23:26] is it even possible to do Windows networking with Linux?
[23:26] *** Joins: BovineOne ([email protected])
by hand, right TheAvatar? =)
[23:27] *** daveha00 sets mode: +o BovineOne
[23:27] ChaoticiZ: well, I was gonna use pen-and-paper too, if that's okay :)
[23:27] That's exactly what samba is.
[23:28] as long as you obey the protocols, its theoretically to do it via smoke signals
thats not okay... use ONLY your hands... and fingers.. i guess 2 thumbs are permitted too =)
[23:28] ok, how do I "map a drive" or connect to a share then?
[23:29] compupc2: read the docs?
[23:29] I was afraid of that :)
[23:29] wayne-o: exactly what sort of protocol do you need with smoke-signals? :)
[23:29] *** Quits: mduell (Ping timeout: 240 seconds.)
[23:30] big puff for 1, little bitty puff for 0?
[23:30] lol
[23:30] imagine trying to download a 1mb file with that :)
[23:30] *** Joins: mduell ([email protected])
[23:31] what sort of error correction does the SSNeP (Smoke Signal NEtwork Protocol) use? :)
that would take awhile... =)
[23:31] * BovineOne wags his tail.
[23:31] * sdodson lops it off and adds it to the cow tail bin
[23:31] I guess they could use a parity puff, if the wind isn't blowing too hard
* ChaoticiZ tried to wag his tail... but fails misrebly =)
[23:32] ChaoticiZ: you've got a tail!
uuu... thats why i failed.. DUH =)
[23:32] No, seriously, you've got a tail!
[23:33] * mduell need to make 7 GB free
hmmm
[23:33] why 7gb?
[23:33] so much for Linux
[23:33] 1 DVD==7GB
7 bg is alot... that would take FOREVER via SSNeP =)
[23:33] SSNeP?
[23:33] thats why the pale-faces won. superior protocols
[23:33] mduell hasn't been paying attention :)
[23:34] lol lol
* ChaoticiZ points up a few lines.. =)
[23:34] ah
[23:35] I wonder if you could use "shotgun firepits" to double your bandwidth with SSNeP :)
maybe bond firing... hehehe =)
or, fire bonding =)
[23:36] 10 min to copy and decrypt a gig... crapola
really? thats alot faster then i imagined SSNeP could go...
[23:37] now i need to get media cleaner
[23:37] of course, in today's high-tech world you could use artificial smoke and fans to increase thruput
i stick to traditional methods... =)
[23:37] DoS attack would be a pail of water :)
[23:37] lol
[23:37] or a hose
would stiring the fire be a hacking attempt? =)
[23:38] DoS attack would be burning all the available wood.
don't all jump up and respond at once...
wait.. thats the SSNeP lag time... i see =)
[23:40] I think we've taken this joke about as far as it can go :)
are you sure? =)
[23:41] *** Joins: _Archon ([email protected])
[23:41] not really :)
thats what i thought... =)
[23:42] * wayne-o invents the chicken daquiri
you wouldn't want to buy a win-fire =)
[23:42] What's the thing with the monks in the middle of eyes wide shut?
very inefficient =)
[23:42] *** Joins: Atuin ([email protected])
[23:42]
[23:43] well people say stuff tastes like chicken
[23:43] *** Joins: primz ([email protected])
* ChaoticiZ sniffs the air "What do ya smell TheAvatar?" =)
[23:43] something stinky :)
* ChaoticiZ points to BovineOne's rear... =)
[23:44] no...that's not it :)
[23:44] whoo. finished writing i3format :)
hmmm... i guess i jumped to conclusions... being theres a pile of crap and a cow... =)\
[23:45] no, I can understand why you would think that... but thats not the source of the odious smell :)
[23:46] ummm... well, shit... my windows folder has ballonded to 1.3GB!
[23:46] whatcho got in there?
[23:46] mduell: Should have put it on a 2GB partition, and filled the partition with 1.3GB of other crap, then that couldn't happen.
[23:47] the swap file is only 112MB
[23:47] temp folder is empty
[23:47] system folder???
[23:47] browser cache?
[23:47] The swap file should be permanent and fixed size.
[23:47] 1.2999999Gig?
[23:47] Oh yeah, IE's cache would be in there.
lol
[23:48] .9 bytes ?
[23:48] :P
[23:48] er oh gig
[23:48] nm heh I can't read
[23:48] c:\windows\system - 276MB
[23:48] weed? did some one say weed?
[23:48] i dont think so
mine is 2.75 gigz with 35k files =)
[23:49] Temporary internet files?
[23:49] I'm guessing there's a crap load in temporary internet files.
[23:49] nope, IF is empty
[23:49] err TIF
[23:49] maybe the fat is messed up; run scandsisk )
[23:50] system32?
[23:50] ahhhh... oops... my desktop is being counted... 717MB there
[23:50] folder that is
[23:50] ohh
[23:50] lol
[23:50] MP3's
[23:50] shit! whats in ya desktop?
[23:51] oh
[23:51] system32 is small
[23:51] *** Quits: TheCougar (Read error: 54 (Connection reset by peer).)
[23:51] move em
[23:51] Heh, I guess I'm not the only one with that bad habbit - saving files right on the desktop.
[23:51] * TheAvatar has a nearly empty desktop... don't like messy things :)
[23:51] *** Joins: TheCougar ([email protected])
[23:51] C:\shitload of mp3s\
[23:51] a place for every file and every file in its place :)
oh yea... desktop =)
1.61 gigz and 20k files on desktop =)
[23:52] not thta bad, my record is 3gigs, A system back up, saved on the desktop.....
